The physician assistant (PA) is a state-licensed or federally-credentialed health care professional who practices medicine with physician supervision. In clinical practice, PAs perform an extensive range of medical services in nearly every medical and surgical specialty and health care setting. Offering many of the services traditionally provided by physicians with rapidly increasing frequency from coast to coast, the profession is poised to internationalize. As part of their many roles in the clinical setting, physician assistants:
Take patient histories and perform physical exams
Diagnose illnesses and develop treatment plans
Order lab tests and prescribe medications
Counsel and educate patients
in surgical settings, suture wounds and assist in surgery
I choose to attend school to hopefully get into the Physician Assistant program so that I could work hard to become an outstanding clinician and to foster a sense of leadership as well as keep my Catholic faith to serve the communities and advance the personal excelling of faith. What I need from you, those who come by my page...Years ago, I made bad choices with money I had. I used some to help family and most on things I did not need. This activity left me with not much to use on important things, such as school. Now, I am ready to make the Personal Commitment to myself by finishing my education. To understand what I am saying and hope you have more insight on me as a person. I rely on friends like you to help me in meeting the needs of trying to live a life with meaning and being able to handle an education at the same time. Your commitment to me plays an important role in my life by allowing me to have the resources that I need to focus fully on school. Your donations will have a huge impact on what I need to do to start and finish what I feel is my future.
